Reinsurance Management Inc. is preparing to move from the Regency area into Metro Square 95 Office Park in Southside and hire at least 20 employees.

A construction permit is pending for Dav-Lin Interior Contractors to renovate 23,781 square feet at the Southside business park, at Philips Highway and Emerson Street.

Reinsurance Management office manager Linda Rice said the move will start May 31 and the company expects to be "up and running" June 3.

Rice said yesterday that the company also has an option for more space in the Metro Square building. "We hope to be expanding by the end of the year. Our business is growing," she said.

The company's 100-job staff will grow by at least 20 and is hiring, she said.

Rice said Reinsurance Management has been operating in about 20,000 square feet in the North Regency One building at 9485 Regency Square Blvd., near Regency Square mall. She said that PRC Ltd. in St. Louis bought the company Jan. 1 and decided to move the operation.

Rice said the company has been in the Regency building since April 1995 but had limited expansion possibilities.

"We want to be all in one big space," she said.

The company also might change its name to MHF Insurance Administrators, she said, to better reflect its business. "We are not in the reinsurance business anymore. We are a third-party administrator for large insurance carriers," Rice said.

She said that one of its subsidiaries is Managed Health Funding, and the company will use those initials.

Reinsurance Management moved its headquarters from Los Angeles to Jacksonville in 1994, she said.

Rice said the company worked with Bruce Jackson of CB Richard Ellis in its site search and chose Metro Square after studying where its employees live. …
