FSU senior pitcher Leslie Malerich continues to build on her record-setting resume. Malerich three-hit Florida A&M in a 2-1 victory last Thursday that made her the Seminoles' all-time wins leader. By improving to 91-35 on her career (19-9 this season), she passed Debbie DeJohn's 90-win standard.

Malerich has also become the program's all-time leader in appearances (153) and innings pitched (852) this season, shattering the marks held by former teammate Jen White-Stokes (135) and DeJohn (798), respectively.

The Merrillville, Ind. native ranks third in career strikeouts with 660, trailing only sisters Julie (834) and Christy Larsen (758), and her 41 career shutouts ranks sixth all-time.

Malerich's performance of late has been instrumental in keeping the Seminoles' playoff hopes alive. She is 14-4 over her last 18 decisions, including wins over nationally-ranked Oklahoma and DePaul. FSU (32-13) is ranked 21st nationally but, more importantly, ranked among the top 10 in its region.

The 19th-ranked Demon Deacons needed three third-set victories to ice the match and improve to 14-2, 5-0 in ACC play. Gustav Becht provided the Seminoles (12-6, 4-1) with their lone singles win, downing Trent Brendon in three sets.

The Seminoles were coming off a 7-0 rout of N.C. State, which secured the program's best league start in seven seasons. …
