A memorial service for Patricia "Patti" Hogan, 32, who died Wednesday in a multi-car accident on Butler Boulevard, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riverside Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Hogan, who lived in Avondale, managed the settlements department at Landstar System. She graduated from the University of North Florida, where she was working toward a doctorate in art history.

A native of Waukegan, Ill., she came to Jacksonville with her family as a teenager and graduated from Ed White High School, later attending Florida Community College at Jacksonville.

She and her husband, Navy Lt. Brad E. Hogan, a nuclear engineer stationed aboard a submarine at Kings Bay, Ga., recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

Adrienne Herndon, a friend and Landstar colleague, said Mrs. Hogan had applied for a job at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, where her husband was headed for two years of shore duty. …
