Meetings top choice

LONDON is not only first for entertainment and a buzzing place to be, but it is also the top choice for association meetings.

The Annual UK Conference Market Survey, published by The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) reveals the capital is the leading destination for UK meetings for associations.

More than 54 per cent of the organisers of conferences for associations selected London as the location for their events last year, against 30 per cent in Birmingham and 23 per cent in Manchester.

However, in the coporate sector, London was just beaten to first spot by central England. The survey also reveals a pleasant suprise for meetings technophobes: the humble flipchart is used by 87 per cent of meeting organisers in the corporate sector.

Powerpoint must be too comlicated for them.
