Ali G Says Planting a Million Trees Is 'Wikkid'

ALI G has become the latest celebrity to back our bid to plant a million trees across London and breathe new life into the capital.

The leader of the West Staines Massive, real name Sacha Baron Cohen, urged readers to get behind the campaign, which aims to bring trees to some of the capital's worst concrete deserts, fill school grounds and streets with greenery and create woodlands.

He said: "Me fink dat sponsorin treez iz a wikkid idea and iz somefin I haz been doin for years - in fact, nearly all da treez in Leacroft Park has now got me name sprayed on dem.

"If, owever, u feels u ain't quite ready to hinvest in a plant az big az a tree, and wants to start wiv somefin smaller, den why not send your cash to me instead of Treez for London, and u will receive part of a nice little bush from Jamaica. Increez da treez."

The Evening Standard, in association with environmental charity Trees for London, aims to plant a million trees across the city by 2010. …
