Arlington 4-H Club Members Stay Busy

To our readers: The 4-H Youth Development Program is currently enrolling youths for the 2002-03 calendar year. Katie Cahan, a member of the Acting Out 4-H Club in Arlington, filed this report about her newly formed club:

There is a new club in town. Officers are elected and ready to attend training. Club meetings are scheduled the first and third Friday of the month at the home of our leader Melody Holt. We have 18 members who have attended regularly.

We have already formed committees and are going camping from Friday to Monday at Little Talbot Island. When we are camping we will practice our talents for a talent show that we will be doing Oct. 4 at Hurley Manor, a senior citizens' community.

Parents were invited to the first meeting. There was a cake that was decorated to look like a 4-H sign-in book. Each member signed their names on it in frosting. Then, after the meeting we got to know each other by roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire in the back yard. …
