JASON LEONARD, the Harlequins and England prop, looks certain to move nearer the magical 100-cap mark after Julian White was banned for 10 weeks by a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing.

Bristol and England prop White has been suspended from 30 September until 9 December after being found guilty of butting Leicester's Graham Rowntree in a Zurich Premiership match.

White left the two-and-a-half hour hearing in Newbury without comment.

But panel chairman Jeff Blackett said: "The panel found the scrum collapsed, and as the players stood up, Julian White was clearly struck by Leicester players before the incident. The heads of both players were in contact.

"He then grabbed Graham Rowntree by the lapels, and deliberately struck a glancing blow on the side of his face.

"We are also concerned that this is the third offence in two-and-a-half years where Julian White has been sent off for violent behaviour, and we have increased the sentence from the very minimum to take his record into account. …
