DIVORCE HELP

DivorceCare, a 13-week support group for people experiencing divorce or separation, will begin at 6:45 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Callahan.

The group will discuss "Facing Your Anger," "Facing Your Loneliness," "Depression," "New Relationships," "KidCare" and "Forgiveness."

Preschool childcare and youth activities are available.

REVIVAL BEGINS

Bible Baptist Church, 820 S. 14th St. in Fernandina Beach, will have a revival at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Jan. 15. Callahan evangelist Frank Shiver will speak.

YOUTH EXTRAVAGANZA

The Nassau County branch of the NAACP will present the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Extravaganza at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at New Zion Baptist Church, 10 S. 10th St. in Fernandina Beach.

Tony Blake Jr. will speak. The NAACP Youth Council invites all youth choirs to participate by rendering one selection. Youth also are welcome to read poetry, perform liturgical dances or present other talent on the program in tribute to King.

MLK SERVICE

The Nassau County Community Leadership Conference invites the public to its annual Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative worship service at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at New Zion Baptist Church, 10 S. 10th St. in Fernandina Beach. The Rev. C.J. Brown, pastor of Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Callahan, will speak. Proceeds from the service benefit the conference's scholarship fund.

DONATION DRIVE

Rainbow Ministry, an outreach ministry of New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, has begun a food, clothing and toiletry drive. The ministry, which began in 2000, is soliciting donations for families in Nassau and Duval counties, Camden County in Georgia, and families in underdeveloped countries. …
