Actress Met Spector after Taking Hostess Job

B-MOVIE actress Lana Clarkson was working as a hostess at a Hollywood nightclub the night she was allegedly shot dead by rock producer Phil Spector, it emerged today.

The famously eccentric producer is alleged to have killed Miss Clarkson, 41, within hours of meeting her at the House of Blues Club in West Hollywood where she had taken a job a few weeks ago in an attempt to make ends meet.

The couple were driven back to Spector's mock castle in the Los Angeles suburb of Alhambra at 5am on Monday, but within moments of arriving their driver heard gunshots from inside. Police called to the scene found Miss Clarkson's body lying in a pool of blood in the marble hall.

Spector, 62, whose Wall of Sound recording technique won him a place in Rock'n'Roll's Hall of Fame, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder but was free by Monday night after posting u600,000 million bail.

Police and prosecutors obtained a search warrant for his 10-bedroom mansion, and spent yesterday searching it for evidence. …
