Man in a Green Jacket Could Be Marsha Suspect

A MAN wearing a green waxed jacket seen in the road where Marsha McDonnell was murdered could be a prime suspect, it emerged today.

Detectives hunting the killer of the 19-year-old are urgently appealing for the man to come forward. They are for the moment treating him as a "significant" witness.

The development came as detectives confirmed they were linking the murder with an earlier attack on a 17-year-old student. Police are appealingfor the man and a woman who both got off a bus near Priory Road, Hampton, where gap-year student Marsha was attacked from behind and beaten to death on 5 February.

A witness has come forward and described a significant "exchange of glances" between the pair who were on the R70 bus, which runs between Kingston and Hampton. They both got off the bus at eight minutes past midnight near the cemetery in Broad Lane, Hampton.

The man, white with dark curly hair and in his thirties, was holding a white carrier bag and was last seen walking alone towards Priory Road. …
