An advocacy group for the disabled has re-filed a federal lawsuit against the PGA Tour seeking better wheelchair access for fans at a dozen professional tournaments in Florida.

Access for the Disabled filed the lawsuit in a federal court in Miami last week. The group had sued the PGA Tour's Honda Classic last year, but the case was dismissed when the tournament moved from the TPC at Heron Bay in Coral Springs to the Mirasol Club in Palm Beach Gardens. A judge threw the suit out because he said it needed to be site-specific.

This time, the suit names the sites for 12 PGA Tour and Champions Tour events in the state, including The Players Championship, at the TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Brian Goin, executive director of The Players Championship, said he makes improvements every year in access to tournament viewing areas, concession stands, restrooms and other facilities and spectator areas. …
