The Amelia Island Historic Harbor Front Hampton Inn & Suites has been named a National Circle of Excellence winner by Hampton, the national brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites hotels.

The hotel, on Second Street in Fernandina Beach, has been ranked in the top 10 percent in service, product and quality among the 1,200 Hampton-brand hotels.

"We are very honored to achieve this distinction among all Hampton hotels. Providing clean, comfortable rooms and outstanding guest service is a top priority for our hotel staff, and one reason we remain highly competitive within our local market," said Ron McCauley, president of Park Place Hospitality Group Inc., the hotel's management company.

Circle of Excellence Award-winners are selected annually based on customer feedback, guest satisfaction surveys, and product quality and service scores measured quarterly by the company.

The Amelia Island Hampton Inn & Suites has 122 rooms and 1,700 square feet of meeting space.

Park Place Hospitality Group of Charlotte, N.C., focuses on new development of hotels with third-party investors, acquisition of existing hotels, third-party management of non-owned hotels and asset management for ownership groups. Park Place operates various brands, including ones by Six Continents, Hilton and Cedant.

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce has started a new Web site -- at Jacksonville.com, keyword: islandchamber. The online visitor has immediate access to major topic areas that allow browsing and searching information about Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach and Yulee.

Features include news and event notices, direct access to business Web pages, a site index and information about a monthly e-mail newsletter.

The site is designed by Amelia Island Internet and Web development company Gigasites.

In conjunction, the chamber is soliciting photos to be included on the site and in the second edition of its official visitor/relocation guide. …
