ACTRESS Charlize Theron is unrecognisable in her latest role as a serial killer.
Theron, 27, gorged on fatty food and pasta to gain 30lbs to play the lead in The Monster, currently being filmed in Florida.
The star, who promotes L'Oreal haircare products, wore her hair long and greasy, had her eyebrows plucked out, and was fitted with contact lenses and crooked yellow teeth to get into character as former prostitute Eileen Wuornos, who spent 12 years on death row for killing six men.
As well as the physical challenges, Theron exorcised some of her own demons for the film. When she was 15 she learned that her mother Gerda had shot dead her drunken father in selfdefence - and it has haunted her ever since.
Now the actress, who appeared in The Cider House Rules and The Legend of Bagger Vance, is acting out several murders.
Wuornos, who killed middle-aged businessmen while working as a prostitute as she hitchhiked around Florida, was dubbed "the Damsel of Death" by US newspapers. …
