Tearful Evans Attacks Virgin Bosses

AN EMOTIONAL Chris Evans wiped his eyes in the High Court today as he recounted sacking his "fairytale" production team at Virgin Radio.

The former radio presenter said: "We had been through hell and high water together. Births, marriages and deaths.

"It had been a fairytale. There is no doubt about it."

Evans, who is suing his former radio station bosses for u8 million, earlier admitted that when he got drunk he was "rip-roaringly" so.

He claims he was unfairly dismissed by Virgin Radio, which sacked him after he allegedly went on a drinking spree and missed a series of broadcasts two years ago.

The TV presenter - described in court as a man of "overbearing arrogance" - also admitted describing himself as self-centred and arrogant in his autobiography.

When he took the witness stand Geoffrey Vos QC, representing Scottish Media Group, said: "You do everything to the nth degree, you are a bit of an extreme person," he said. …
