Police Looking for Man in Attack on Woman

Police are searching for a man who got into a home in the 2900 block of Willow Street April 2, attacked a woman inside and stole her jewelry before fleeing, only to try to kick his way back in.

Police said the man, who is an ex-boyfriend, came to her home around 3:40 p.m. and covered over the front door peep hole before knocking. When the woman opened the door, the man walked in and began arguing with her about child support issues. He followed her into a bedroom, where he started punching and kicking her before tearing a necklace and bracelet from her, police said.

The man fled with the jewelry and the woman locked the door. But police said the man tried to kick the door in again when he returned.

Police were called to the scene and found some of the jewelry outside. The police report said officers would seek an arrest warrant.
