Availability of Specialized Medical Services Increase in OKC Area

A newly opened Edmond-based company will provide independent evaluations on long-term care facilities to families in need of aging care assistance for loved ones.

ArcAngels, Aging Care Advisors, provides evaluations and recommendations on the long-term care industry.

Steve and Susan Huffstutler, co-founders of ArcAngels, have more than 40 years of experience ranging from direct patient care to management of long-term care facilities. Steve Huffstutler was appointed by Gov. Frank Keating to serve on the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council and remains a current member.

"We know that making the decision for a loved one to transition into dependent living can be stressful," said Huffstutler, "and we hope that our experience and compassion for our clients and their loved ones can alleviate some of their anxiety."

In addition to providing evaluations, the company's services also include regularly scheduled visits, on-site monitoring and the option of obtaining survey results and assessments from the Oklahoma State Department of Health about a facility's background and offerings.

OU Physicians

Three neurologists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system have joined the staff of OU Physicians.

Zahid F. Cheema, of Norman, is board-certified in neurology and specializes in neuromuscular diseases. He completed his medical training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.

Neurologist Anton E. Coleman specializes in behavioral neurology, dementia, superlative brain functions and neuro-endocrinology. He completed fellowships at Harvard Medical School.

Marc E. Lenaerts, of Norman, specializes in evaluation and treatment of headaches. He completed his medical training at OUHSC and has additional experience in diagnosis and treatment of neurological pain and epilepsy.

Fatima de N.A.P. Shelton, of Edmond, is board-certified in neurology and neurorehabilitation. She is a medical graduate of Escola Paulista de Medicina, Sao Paulo, Brazil. She completed her neurology residency at Escola Paulista de Medicina and at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. She completed a fellowship in neuro-oncology at Escola Paulista de Medicina, and in neurorehabilitation at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital of Cornell University. …
