State Chamber Promotes Howell

Edward Howell has been promoted to vice president of communications by The State Chamber -- Oklahoma's Association of Business and Industry.

Howell is responsible for media relations, print and online publications, advertising, electronic communications, Web site management, and is a registered lobbyist. Howell also wrote the communications plan for the right-to-work campaign and served as its communications director and press secretary.

Before joining the State Chamber, Howell was a reporter with the Edmond Sun and publisher of The Sterling Kansas Bulletin. Howell served five years in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyst stationed in Central America and Europe, and worked as a German interpreter.

Howell is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and the Defense Language Institute.

Eateries promotes Mogelnicki

Robert Mogelnicki has been promoted to vice president of development for Eateries Inc.

He will oversee construction, purchasing, franchise site selection, project management, leasing, service contracting and capital expenditures. Mogelnicki is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Tulsa. He was president of Warren Professional Building Corp.

Express adds five

Express Services of Oklahoma City has added five employees.

Rebecca Weber has joined Express Services as administrative assistant in risk management. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and was branch office administrator for Edward James in Oklahoma City.

Barbara Luton has been appointed franchise service representative in the assistance center. She attended Southern Nazarene University and was office supervisor for American General Live.

Shawn McCubbin and Tracy Dilley joined Express as workers compensation claims assistants. McCubbin attended Western Oklahoma State University in Altus and was a medical receptionist at Mercy Hospital in Edmond. Dilley is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and was a benefits coordinator for Vaccumschmelze Corp.

Kevin Housley has been appointed technical support representative. He has an associate's degree in information technology from Oklahoma City Community College and was as assistant business office manager with Quail Creek Nursing Center.

Small business finalists named

Seven finalists have been named for the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce's 2002 Small Business of the Year Award.

The finalists are XAE Corp., Hornbeek Larsson Blatt Architects, Michele Schaefer Insurance, ChappelWood Financial Services and New Vision Consulting.

The winner will be announced on Jan. 30 at the Edmond chamber's annual banquet at the University of Central Oklahoma. …
