A fashion show with a mission is coming up May 7, sponsored by and benefiting Child S.H.A.R.E. (Shelter Homes: A Rescue Effort). The showing and luncheon will be at noon in the Phillips Pavilion at the Governor's Mansion. Reservations are $75 per person.

Honorary chairman is Oklahoma's first lady Kim Henry and co- chairing the benefit are Mary Ann Edwards and Barbara Brou. Bob Benham, owner of Balliet's, is providing the fashions featuring New York designer David Rodriguez, who will be present for the showing. His newest collection may be seen at Balliet's May 8 and 9.

The mission of the showing is to raise awareness, support and funds to expand the number of families that can be served by Child S.H.A.R.E., which works through the ecumenical faith community to assist in finding and supporting good homes for Oklahoma's foster children.

OETA fetes 50th

The festive evening will begin with a reception and music provided by guitarist Edgar Cruz. Dinner and the program will start at 7 p.m.

And the program? How about brief talks by University of Oklahoma president David L. Boren, Gov. Brad Henry and PBS (Public Broadcasting System) president Pat Mitchell. And special entertainment by Guy Hovis and Ralna English, stars on the Lawrence Welk Show, which OETA produces and syndicates nationally.
