Senator Jon Corzine to Speak at University of Oklahoma

A former chairman of Goldman Sachs who went on to become a U.S. senator will speak at 2:45 p.m. Monday at the Oklahoma Memorial Union at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Sen. Jon Corzine, whose visit is being sponsored by the JC Penney Leadership Program in OU's Michael F. Price College of Business, will give informal remarks followed by a question-and-answer session. The meeting is open to students and the public. Corzine's topic will be Life in Business and Politics.

As the CEO of Goldman Sachs, Corzine expanded the company's community outreach and philanthropic programs, establishing a company-wide service program in which employees volunteer on a regular basis in their communities.

Born Jan. 1, 1947, Corzine grew up on a small family farm in the central Illinois community of Willey's Station, a railroad station stop outside Taylorville.
