SeekingSitters Franchise in Tulsa Adds Service for Businesses

Any small-business owner can tell the same story - having one or two employees out of the office can be devastating to a day's productivity.

If the cause is a parent with a sick child and no baby sitter, SeekingSitters has a solution.

Adrienne Kallweit, owner of the SeekingSitters franchise in Tulsa, has added a new component to her baby-sitting company - a corporate element for business owners and their employees. So far in SeekingSitters' existence, usage has mostly come from parents needing baby sitters for their children at home. But Kallweit said she increasingly saw a need for a workplace option.

"It's a way to get employees into the office and keep them productive when the kids are out of school or their regular child care is unavailable," Kallweit said. "Our service has always handled special events, weddings and corporate events, but we didn't have a program that could handle corporate accounts. So we've spent the last six months implementing an entirely new structure to our online program."

With the new corporate element, businesses can use the service in two ways: They can sign up as a business and arrange for sitters, or the employee can sign up and request sitters. Some employers allocate money for baby-sitting or create a rainy day account for employees to use if needed, Kallweit said.

If employees are signing up for baby-sitting services, their employers can still monitor its usage. They can see when employees have scheduled baby-sitting, how much they've used and print out year-end reports.

Businesses also can use SeekingSitters to provide baby-sitting service for a corporate event or holiday activity, she said.

"Our sitters love working at events," Kallweit said. "They show up with activities and, if it's a holiday event, it's very festive."

Pricing for a corporate account at SeekingSitters operates similar to a standard family membership, she said. …
