The final presentation of the Ballet Oklahoma Ballet season will be a romantic comedy with the intriguing title of Coppelia or the Girl with Enamel Eyes.

Performances are scheduled Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Civic Center Music Hall and tickets are available by calling 848-8637.

Based on a tale by E.T.A. Hoffman, Coppelia tells the story of a doll maker who dreams of creating a doll so lifelike that it seems to become real, representing a daughter who never grows up. It was first performed in 1870 at the Paris Opera.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 p.m. after Curtain Conversations by Brian Pitts, Ballet Oklahoma's artistic director, at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday performance will be at 2 p.m. and will be preceded by a story of the ballet by Karen Bray. Ticket prices range from $30 to $42 per adult and $26 to $38 for students and seniors.

The Friday night audience will have the opportunity to receive a trip to be given away during intermission. Called Getaway Friday, the trip will be to San Francisco and includes air fare and two nights' accommodations at the Renaissance Stanford Court Hotel, donated by Journey House Travel.

Performance sponsors for Coppelia are Chesapeake Energy, Katie and Aubrey McClendon, OG&E and Newhaven Homes. Season sponsors include Allied Arts, Oklahoma Arts Council, Kirkpatrick Foundation, Mathis Brothers Furniture, The Journal Record, Cox Communications, KMGL and Journey House Travel.
