Tulsa-Based Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Signs Five-Year $150M IT Agreement with Texas Company

Tulsa-based Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group announced Thursday the signing of a five-year, $150 million information technology services agreement with EDS, a global technology services company based in Plano, Texas.

The agreement expands the services EDS currently provides to Dollar Thrifty, which have primarily centered on data center operations support for the past nine years. EDS will now provide a wide range of IT services, including applications development and maintenance; network, workplace and storage management; backup and recovery; and midrange hosting services.

We are very excited about this expanded relationship, said Gary Paxton, president and CEO of Dollar Thrifty. In addition to the economic benefits associated with leveraging across the EDS organization, we chose to expand our relationship based on EDS's world-class approach to technology solutions.

Paxton said EDS's existing presence in Tulsa was also a factor in the decision to expand the partnership, since he expects a significant number of IT employees at Dollar Thrifty will transition to EDS. Vic Alonzi, vice president of Dollar Thrifty's IT department, will continue to manage the company's IT department and its partnership with EDS.
