Master-Planned Community Goes Up in North Oklahoma City

A new residential housing division called Valencia is quickly taking shape in north Oklahoma City, with 250 of the planned 2,000 home sites either built or in progress.

Vernon McKown, co-owner and president of sales for Ideal Homes, which was founded in 1990 in Norman and is locally owned and operated, said Valencia offers homes ranging in price from $110,000 to $300,000 and on up. The neighborhood is between N. Pennsylvania Avenue and N. May Avenue on NW 178th Street.

Historically, Oklahoma hasn't had many master-planned housing editions, McKown said. Valencia is a master-planned and eco- friendly community. It captures the natural runoff of the area with a waterfall. It is about 20-percent developed, and buyers will enjoy an Oklahoma City address and utilities with Deer Creek and Edmond schools.
