Conference to focus on governmental accounting
The annual Governmental Accounting and Auditing Conference presented by the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants is scheduled May 5 and 6 at the Clarion Meridian Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Speakers will include William V. Allen Jr., president of Making Auditors Proficient Inc.; Frank W. Crawford, president of Crawford & Associates in Oklahoma City and chairman of the American Institute of CPAs' National Governmental Accounting and Conference Planning Task Force; Arthur A. Hayes Jr., director of the Division of State Audit in the Tennessee Comptroller's Office since 1988; Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector Gary A. Jones; Lisa R. Parker, project manager with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board; Terry K. Patton, co-author on PPC's Guide to Governmental Financial Reporting Model: Implementing GASBS No. 34; and Michael A. Crawford, past vice chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council.

OSU School of Accounting selects distinguished alumni
The School of Accounting in the Spears School of Business has selected three Oklahoma State University alumni to be honored as 2011 Distinguished Alumni.
