OKC-Based Falcone's Bricktown Pizzeria Faces Eviction Notice

Falcone's Pizzeria & Deli may not be serving up its New York- style pizza and calzones in Bricktown for much longer.

The pizzeria's landlord, Bricktown Entertainment LLC, an affiliate of Lower Bricktown developer Stonegate-Hogan, began eviction proceedings against Falcone's last week in Oklahoma County District Court.

In court documents, Bricktown Entertainment claims Falcone's has defaulted on its lease and owes $14,921 in unpaid rent and other charges.

Business is slow in Bricktown, while rent is high, owner Danny Falcone said. Falcone pays $10,000 a month in rent for his 3,547- square-foot restaurant space at 208 Johnny Bench Dr. near the Harkins Theatres Bricktown 16.

"It's an event-driven place - nobody is going to drive down there to eat lunch or dinner," he said. "Summertime is good, but September is a bad month for us when school starts again."

Falcone would like to keep the Bricktown restaurant open until his lease expires in May 2012, or close at the end of the year, if his landlord will let him out of the lease early, he said. …
