Easter Seals raffles Dodge Challenger

Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center has launched its 2012 "Cool Car, Cold Cash" fundraising raf-fle, sponsored by Larry Bennett's Audubon Chrysler Center and Old National Bank.

The raffle's grand prize is a 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT (valued at $29,820). There also will be a second prize of $5,000 and a third prize of $1,000.

Easter Seals is hoping to raise $103,000 by selling up to 3,000 raffle tickets for $50 each or three tickets for $100.

Tickets are available during regular business hours at participating Old National Bank locations, all Wesselman's Supermarkets & Grocery Outlet locations, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, 3701 Bellemeade Ave., and Milestones, the Easter Seals Child Development Center, 621 S. Cullen Ave., Evansville.

Tickets also may be purchased by calling 812-492-0667 or by printing and mailing entry forms from the Easter Seals website: Tickets are available until just before the drawing or until all 3,000 are sold.

A random drawing to determine the winners will be held at noon March 1 in the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center gym. Entrants do not have to be present to win.


Sewing guild to make fleece blankets for kids

At its Jan. 24 meeting, the American Sewing Guild will work on no-sew fleece blankets for infants and toddlers to be donated to the Christian Life Center's Parenting Rewards Class.

Police, Extension Service plan outreach to farmers

The Kentucky State Police/Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service will provide a "Farmer Outreach" forum at 6 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Muhlenberg County Cooperative Extension Service Office, 3690 Kentucky 1380, Central City, Ky.

Evansville Day School hosts toddlers Feb. 25

Evansville Day School will host Junior Pre-K Visit Day on Feb. 25 for students who will be 3 years old by Aug. 1 and are interested in the 2012-13 school year. The children will explore the classroom while parents meet with faculty and staff for questions and answers. …
