A 'Tradition' 36 Years Strong 'Cats Edge Reitz to Take Sectional Title [Corrected 02/07/12]

Article excerpt

Third-ranked Mater Dei took the drama out of the team chase early Saturday in the Central Sectional. Memorial senior Ben Johnson edged Mater Dei senior Sam Goebel, a defending champion, 5-3 in overtime.

Then at 126, second-seeded junior Logan Wedding of Memorial got a late takedown against top-seeded Reitz senior Gideon Vanhook for a 5-4 decision.

"Gideon's a really strong wrestler," Wedding said after his first sectional title. …
