Funds missing from FOP bank account

The board of the Warrick County Fraternal Order of Police announced Tuesday that it discovered "suspicious activity" and "discrepancies in one of its bank accounts" earlier this month.

It did not disclose specifics about the account, in a news release, which was signed by the four board members.

According to the release, the board held a meeting last week to report the issue to its members. The findings were discovered on Feb. 7, according to the release, and the board has asked the county prosecutor's office to investigate.

Warrick County Prosecutor JoAnn Krantz since has asked the Indiana State Police superintendent to be assigned to the case.

Yard barn fire led to meth arrests

Two people arrested after fire crews responded to a yard barn fire on Evansville's South Side last week will face several methamphetamine-related charges.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office is charging Harry H. Robertson III, 35, of Spottsville, Ky., and Jennifer Wilkey, 39, of Evansville, each with dealing methamphetamine, a Class B felony, as well as possessing methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, Class D felonies. Robertson also faces a charge of maintaining a common nuisance.

Police responded to a suspected arson involving a yard barn about 5 p.m. Feb. 14 at 1208 Marshall Ave., according to court records. When the Evansville Fire Department arrived, a witness described a man who had been seen fleeing the home. An Evansville Police Department officer chased Robertson and caught him by stunning him with a Taser when he refused to stop. Wilkey told a detective Robertson paid her and her boyfriend with methamphetamine to stay at the house, according to court records. Officers received a warrant to search the property and found two one pot meth labs and multiple items used to make the drug, they said. …
