SCHOOL LUNCH Today's elementary, K-6 and K-8 school lunch menu for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. is pizza choice or turkey wrap, Tater Tots, mini carrots and sherbet.

The middle and junior high school menu is pizza choice or turkey wrap, french fries, mini carrots and sherbet.

Friday's elementary, K-6, K-8 and middle and junior high school lunch menu is taco with chips and salsa or grilled cheese sandwich, refried beans, shredded lettuce salad and peaches.


Free family fun night tonight at museum

Thursday is Free Family Fun Night at the Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville, 22 SE 5th St., from 5 to 8 p.m.

The monthly event is sponsored by St. Mary's Health System.

In recognition of March as National Nutrition Month, Lacy Mc- Near, a registered dietitian with St. Mary's Community Outreach Services, will discuss the benefits of fruits and vegetables and how to incorporate them into children's diets.

All children attending St. Mary's Free Family Fun Night must be accompanied by an adult. Groups are required to schedule a daytime field trip.


Holiday World holding auditions Saturday

Holiday World will hold local auditions for singers, dancers, costumed mascots and technicians for the 2012 season from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the theme park's Holiday Theater.

Shows include current and classic country, pop music over the years and contemporary Christian music, worship music and Christian hits. Performers and technicians must be at least 16 years old when rehearsals begin, later in March. Holiday World's 66th season begins May 5.

Singers, dancers, actors and technicians interested in applying should prepare a one-page resume listing education, training and experience. Performers must be prepared to sing a ballad and up- tempo song (limit to one minute each) in country, pop or rock style. A piano accompanist and CD player will be provided. All performers should bring dance attire, for a brief dance combination taught on site by a staff choreographer.

Astronomical Society watching the stars

The Evansville Astronomical Society will host a free public star watch at 7:30 p.m. March 24, at the Wahnsiedler Observatory in Lynnville Park in Lynnville, Ind.

The event will begin with a short presentation on astronomy. Then, weather permitting, attendees get to stargaze through the club's telescopes.


North High graduates complete Marine training

Three 2011 North High School graduates recently completed Marine Corps infantry training.
