Castle High School graduate Luke Sprague scored 10 points in his return from a shoulder injury to help No. 4-ranked Bellarmine to an 82-73 win over No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville in a quarter-final game at the NCAA Division II Elite 8 in Highland Heights, Ky. Sprague hit two 3-pointers and two key free throws as the Knights (29-4) rallied from a 41-32 halftime deficit. Chris Dowe scored 24 points, Jeremy Kendle 23 and Richie Phares 13 for Bellarmine. Brayden Hobbs had five points, seven assists, five steals and two blocked shots. Zen Campbell had 26 points and Jaime Smith 24 for the Chargers in front of 4,281 at Northern Kentucky University's arena.

Bellarmine, the defending D-II champion, will face Montevallo (28-7), which defeated Metro State 67-65, in one semi-final tonight. The other semifinal matches Western Washington, which upset Midwestern State 64-63, against Stonehill, a 91-90 winner over West Liberty. n NIT: Minnesota 78, Middle Tennessee 72: Rodney Williams and Andre Hollins each scored 24 points to help Minnesota advance to the semifinals. …
