SCHOOL LUNCH

Today's elementary, K-6, K-8 middle and junior high school lunch menu for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. is beef sticks with roll, mashed potatoes with gravy, spinach and mandarin oranges.

Thursday's elementary, K-6 and K-8 school lunch menu is ham and cheese sandwich, chips, mini carrots and fruit juice.

The middle and junior high school menu is pizza choice or spicy chicken sandwich, french fries, mini carrots and fruit choice.

EVANSVILLE

Symphony Tea deadline extended to today

The Evansville Philharmonic Crescendo Club has extended the deadline to 11:30 a.m. today for Sunday's Symphony Tea.

Jean Noyes, a Tri-State resident born and raised in England, will discuss English tea customs. Gina McCalister from Mulberry Jean's in Newburgh will detail health benefits of teas. And Alfred Savia, the Philharmonic's artistic director, will outline the new 2012- 2013 season.

Waiters in white gloves will serve soup, assorted sandwiches, teas, cream, scones and savory cakes. Pianist Melissa Bethel also will perform.

Proceeds from the event, which will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Evansville Country Club, will benefit the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, a nonprofit organization.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for children 12 and younger. For reservations or information, call the Philharmonic box office at 812- 425-5050.

NEWBURGH, IND.

Pharmacists to host medication consultation

Pharmacists from St. Mary's Medical Center will be conducting a Brown Bag Medication Checkup 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Newburgh Senior Citizens Center.

People who take multiple medications are invited to put them into a bag or to bring a complete listing of their medicines for a free consultation with a hospital pharmacist.

Pharmacists from St. Mary's Medical Center will provide private, personal consultations and evaluations of prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. They also will offer tips for safe and effective medication use and answer questions about medications.

Free blood pressure screenings will be offered, and refreshments will be available.
