Auditions open today for roles in comedy film

Producers of "War Grooms," a motion picture comedy being shot in the Evansville area, will conduct open auditions for the low- budget movie from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the Evansville Civic Theatre Annex in Washington Square Mall.

Sheriff reminds public of burning ban penalties

A burn ban prohibiting all burning continues for Henderson County, Ky., and Sheriff Ed Brady is warning that people who ignore the ban could face fines of up to $500.

"Intentionally setting a fire under these dry conditions can result in several dangerous possibilities," the sheriff said. "If a person's life is placed in jeopardy or a building is burned due to an intentionally set fire, the person who set the fire can be charged criminally with a felony charge."

Airport kiosk displays heart of Warrick County

The new Warrick County Airport Kiosk is located in the Evansville Regional Airport. Visitors will see a snapshot of the heart of Warrick County next to the baggage claim.

The completion of the kiosk was a result of the Connect with Southern Indiana program through the University of Southern Indiana. Funding was provided by Warrick County Economic Development, the Newburgh

Area Business Association and Historic Newburgh Inc.

One side is designed as a spotlight on business, another side highlights the region's quality of life, and the third side showcases historic Newburgh as a destination.

Lecturer to address healing power of prayer

A talk titled "The Healing Effect of Prayer" will be presented by Mark Swinney at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Browning Room A of Central Library in Downtown Evansville.
