William J. Green has been elected president of the board of directors of United Services in St. Peters. Green is the managing partner of Soil Consultants in St. Peters.

Sgt. James E. Bunch of St. Charles has earned the highest honor an Army recruiter can achieve, the Army's Recruiter ring. He is a recruiter in St. Peters.

The Francis Howell School District has recognized two businesses that opened recently in the district. National Cart Co., a maker of carts for groceries and other businesses, has opened a 30,000-square-foot building in the Blanchette Business Center in St. Charles, and Koenig's Custard has opened at 3885 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville. The businesses received the district's Progress Award.

Harlan Pals, the regional sales manager of the Pals Financial Group in St. Charles, has been inducted into Lutheran Brotherhood Hall of Fame. The honor is the highest given to members of the society's sales force.

The St. Charles County Government Employment & Training Center was recognized recently by the Missouri Vocational Association for programs for dislocated workers. K & R Wood Products of O'Fallon was honored as the employer of the year. …
