Game, Set, Rematch: Twenty years later, BILLIE JEAN KING did it again. She beat BOBBY RIGGS.

King and mixed doubles partner ELTON JOHN defeated Riggs and MARTINA NAVRATILOVA 3-2 in a 15-minute tennis match Wednesday night in Los Angeles to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

"It's great to be on the court," Riggs said. "I had Martina Navratilova, one of the best players of all time, as my partner. It was a good match. If we had played a complete set, I predict Riggs and Navratilova would have won. I'd bet a thousand dollars on it."

In their famous "battle of the sexes" in 1973, King, then 29, beat Riggs, then 55, by a score of 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. "It was so great to see Bobby and a really fun way to celebrate our 20-year reunion for such a great cause," King said.

Star Picks Up The Slacks: For the Westlake Village (Calif.) High School football team, money definitely makes the world go around. Well, a sudden windfall got them new uniform pants, anyway.

And it's entertainer LIZA MINNELLI, of all people, whom they can thank.

It so happens that Westlake assistant coach DARRYL SMITH has been a friend of Minnelli for many years. His wife, CHRISTINA, is a makeup artist who has worked on about 60 movies, including "Cabaret," in which Minnelli starred.

He happened to mention to her that the team was in need of new pants, and Minnelli, godmother of Smith's son, Cody, offered $5,000.

The new pants are bright orange - a marked contrast to the team's worn-out white pants.

"The kids are pretty psyched," coach DARRYL SMITH said in the Los Angeles Daily News. "It'll give them a whole different look. Who knows what will happen? It's like when Notre Dame came out in the green jerseys."
