TV Movie to Tell Tale of Paula Sims, Deaths of Her 2 Children

The macabre tale of Paula Sims and the death of two of her children will be portrayed in a television movie Tuesday night on KMOV (Channel 4).

The movie, "Precious Victims," is based on the book of that title by Don W. Weber and Charles Bosworth Jr.

Weber prosecuted Sims in January 1990 and won a murder conviction. Bosworth, a Post-Dispatch reporter, wrote stories about the deaths of Sims' two daughters and covered her murder trial in Peoria, Ill.

Weber and Bosworth said they had read the script and were in Los Angeles last summer for the filming of the courtroom scenes. Bosworth said the screenwriter, Deborah Dalton, "worked very hard at making it as accurate as possible. Much of the courtroom dialogue is taken straight from the trial transcript."

Sims, 34, was convicted of murder for the April 1989 killing of 6-week-old Heather, her second daughter. She later pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in the death in 1986 of her first daughter, 13-day-old Loralei. …
