Injuries Hold Hill's Numbers Down

Much-missed hurler KEN HILL had an OK season in Montreal - he is 9-7 with a 3.32 earned-run average - but injuries and ineffectiveness made him a poor bargain for the Expos for his $2 million salary. He blew leads in three critical starts down the stretch.

"He got into a bad habit of trying to protect his groin when he was hurt," Expos pitching coach Joe Kerrigan said. "He's throwing from a real short stride and he's not getting any juice on his pitches. He's not getting his butt into any of his pitches."

Here is some precious advice - all you little-leaguers remember to get your butt into those pitches.
