Hall Is Top Qualifier For Senior PGA Tour

Bill Hall, head pro at Glen Echo Country Club, won the Senior PGA Tour National Qualifying Tournament in Haines City, Fla., on Friday. He beat Graham Marsh by 2 strokes.

Hall closed with a 3-under-par 69 for a 284 total. The victory gives him a full exemption into all open Senior Tour events next year. He also won $10,500.

He said he wouldn't have been satisfied settling for anything less than first place. "I was thinking (Thursday night) about just trying to make the top eight spots," he said. "Then I thought, `This is really stupid. Why don't I just try to win the whole thing?' "

Also qualifying were Marsh, Dick Goetz, George Shortridge, Randy Petri, Fred Ruiz, Richard Bassett and Bob Panasik.
