Four Missourians, one a St. Louis area man, have been certified as fishing world record holders in the latest release by the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, Wis. They are:

Stanley J. Ransom, Fenton, all-tackle record for a 4-pound 1-ounce shortnose gar caught from the Meramec River Feb. 7.

Danny Jenkins, Bolivar, a 6-pound line record for a 4-pound 4-ounce black crappie caught at Harry's Lake May 23.

Daniel Marsch, Jefferson City, a 4-pound line record for a 25-pound 10-ounce black buffalo taken from the Lake of the Ozarks May 14.

Dennis Eighmy, Grant City, for a 7-pound 10-ounce channel catfish caught on fly tackle with an 8-pound tippet from the Grant City pond May 16. The 12th Pickwick Sauger Festival buddy fishing tournament will be Saturday on upper Kentucky Lake, near Pickwick Dam and Savannah, Tenn. Entry fee is $60 per boat. The festival is held in the winter because that's when sauger fishing is best on the river that connects Kentucky and Pickwick reservoirs. …
