Cox Regrets Latest Temper Tantrum

Miami Dolphins linebacker Bryan Cox regrets his latest temper tantrum because it embarrassed his wife and daughter.

In the closing moments of Sunday's 19-14 loss to the New York Giants, Cox offered a fan $10,000 to fight him and was restrained from attacking back judge Bill Lovett. While walking to the locker room after the game, Cox shouted profanities at a National Football League security representative, whose job is to protect the game officials.

Cox was fined $10,000 by the NFL earlier this season when he made obscene gestures toward fans in Buffalo.

Defiant after past incidents, Cox sounded contrite Monday after talking with his wife and 9-year-old daughter. "I've been an embarrassment to myself and my family and my team, and I understand that a little bit better," he said.

"The kids ask my daughter, `Why is your dad always fighting? Why is he always arguing?' She was almost in tears Sunday. It's difficult to put that on your kid. Those are the biggest reasons I need to sit back and take a look at this. …
