Article excerpt

Family: I am looking for my nephew, Mike Ramond Winsett. He was born to Edmond and Bonnie Rae Sharp Winsett in St. Louis on March 19, 1970.

Because my sister was unable to care for him, she relinquished her rights to him, and I took him myself.

When I married, my husband Bud and I kept him and loved him. We lived at 505 Venneman Avenue in Glendale. But when he was 6, we divorced, and Mike automatically became a ward of the state.

The officials said they would charge me with kidnapping if I didn't turn him over. I will never forget his screams when the officials took him off. There wasn't anything I could do. I had no money for an attorney.
