D'arcy's Public Service Campaign Wins Recognition

A public service advertising campaign created and produced by D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles-St. Louis has earned the agency recognition by Adweek magazine as one of the nation's Top 25 best examples of pro bono advertising. Last summer's multi-media campaign, part of the Salvation Army's effort to feed flood victims, featured snippets from Charlie Chaplin's 1925 classic movie, "The Gold Rush." D'Arcy staffers involved in the promo included Charles Claggett as creative director, Tom Townsend as copywriter, Jim Fortune as art director, and John Seaton as producer.

JUST ONE OF THE GUCCIS: Kupper Parker Communications Inc. has been selected as agency of record for the London-based Paolo designer fashion line, and KPC's sales promotion affiliate, Garoutte & Associates Inc., was inked for its sales promotion programs. The designer line by Paolo Gucci, grandson of famed designer Guccio Gucci, is an independent business from the Gucci family of Italian designers. Last year, Paolo sales in the United States were nearly $30 million.

KPC will develop marketing and public relations materials and G&A will provide strategic promotional services for use by the designer's licensees nationwide.

Drone & Mueller & Associates marketing communications has been appointed agency of record by Multiplex Display Furniture Co. of St. Louis. Drone & Mueller is responsible for direct marketing programs, advertising, collateral, sales promotions, and public relations for Multiplex. Dan Dilvey will serve as account supervisor. . . .

The St. Louis chapter of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants has selected Salsman Lundgren Public Relations to handle its upcoming community awareness campaign, "Be Something in Life that Counts."

The citywide project will help elementary school children relate math skills to real life problem-solving situations and to consider accounting as a career option. …
