Latrell Sprewell's buzzer-beating 3-point shot lifted the Golden State Warriors over the Atlanta Hawks 120-119 Wednesday night in the National Basketball Association.

The victory was a season-high fifth in a row for Golden State and ended Atlanta's home-court winning streak at eight.

The Hawks had taken a 119-116 lead with 9.8 seconds remaining on two free throws by Dominique Wilkins. He scored a season-high 39 points.

Golden State's Avery Johnson made one of two free throws with three seconds left. An Atlanta turnover with 1.7 seconds to play led to Sprewell's winning shot.

He finished with 25 points.

The victory was the Warriors' first in Atlanta since 1983. They had lost 10 in a row in Atlanta.

Chris Mullin led the Warriors with 28 points.

Charlotte set a franchise record by making all 24 of its free throw attempts, with Mourning going 13 for 13.

CHICAGO - Steve Kerr hit a 3-pointer with 23 seconds left as Chicago rallied from six points down in the final three minutes to beat Washington. The home-court victory was the 15th in a row for the Bulls, who have won 17 of their last 20 games.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Derrick Coleman and Kenny Anderson were the catalysts as New Jersey enjoyed its first three-game winning streak of the season. Coleman scored 24 points and Anderson 16. Minnesota had 21 turnovers.

INDIANAPOLIS - Byron Scott and Reggie Miller each scored 21 points as Indiana handed Miami its sixth loss in a row.

The Pacers won for the fifth time in their last six games, including four in a row at home. …
