After the Blues' 5-4 overtime loss to Detroit on Saturday night at The Arena, goalie Curtis Joseph was asked whether it was a "good thing" for the Blues to have two days off before their next game.

The theory was that the Blues would have a chance to regroup and recuperate. Joseph quickly shot down that theory.

"I'd rather play tonight," he said.

Joseph wanted to get back between the pipes in the hope of recovering his lost magic.

Joseph is 1-2-1 with a 4.37 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage in his last four starts. His overall goals-against average has risen to 3.10 from 2.98, and his save percentage has fallen to .913 from .916.

Joseph has become frustrated with his play. He allowed three questionable goals Saturday night.

"I thought we played well . . . well enough to win, that's for sure, (but) I haven't played well in probably three weeks," Joseph said. …
