Blackhawks Douse Flames Stop Slide at Four Games

The Chicago Blackhawks rallied for three goals in the third period and snapped a losing streak of four games with a 4-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Monday night.

Chicago also ended Calgary's winning streak of six games.

Chicago's Jeremy Roenick tied the game 2-2 at 3 minutes 24 seconds of the third period. He carried the puck across the blue line, skated in past Calgary's Dan Keczmer and beat Flames goaltender Mike Vernon.

The winner came less than five minutes later when Christian Ruuttu scored. Joe Murphy added a goal at 11:47.

The Blackhawks were 0-4 on the power play and Calgary was 1-3.

QUEBEC - Steve Larmer scored two power-play goals as the New York Rangers extended Quebec's losing streak to four games.

Nick Kypreos and Mark Messier also scored for New York. Sergei Zubov had three assists.

Mike Ricci and former Blues center Bob Bassen scored for the Nordiques, who lost their fourth successive home game and the sixth of their last seven. …
