SPLITEM: St. Louis County Circuit Judge Herbert Lasky ordered businessman Steve Gall to pay $100,000 in expenses to the law firm Kohn, Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis and Giljum, which represented his wife, Sherry, in a divorce case and custody dispute.

Sherry Gall, a tutor at the Whitfield School, sued her husband, an officer of Medicine Shoppe International and son of one of its founders, Dr. Ira Gall, more than three years ago.

Sherry Gall was granted everything she sought in the case, including sole custody of the couple's 5-year-old son. She was represented by Pete Woods of the Kohn law firm.

Ted Schechter, Gall's attorney, was out of town and unable to comment on whether an appeal is in the works. But Steve Gall said, "We've never heard of anything like that (an order to pay $100,000 in expenses). Schechter said we'll work out something short of an appeal, if possible. …
