Dee Brown scored six points in the final two minutes Monday night to help the Boston Celtics beat Miami 112-104, snapping the Heat's team-record winning streak at seven games.

The Celtics won for the second time in succession after a club-record, 13-game losing streak. They shot 64 percent.

Brown scored 21 points, and Sherman Douglas had 20 points and 11 assists.

Grant Long hit 10 of 12 shots and scored 24 points to lead the Heat.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - John Starks scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half and sparked a 20-0 run in the fourth quarter that carried New York past Detroit. The loss was the Pistons' seventh in a row.

Starks scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter, and the Knicks went on a 20-0 run to lead 77-73 with six minutes left. By the time Isiah Thomas hit two free throws to end the run, the Pistons had missed 11 successive shots and had been scoreless for more than seven minutes. …
