Dr. Otto C. Reinert, a longtime chiropractor, author and educator, died of lung cancer Friday (March 18, 1994) at a hospice in Boca Raton, Fla. He was 78.

Dr. Reinert, a former resident of Chesterfield, grew up in St. Louis. He practiced chiropractic in St. Louis from the mid-1930s until his retirement in 1980. After retiring, he was a research consultant at Logan College of Chiropractic until 1990.

He was a 1932 graduate of McBride High School and a 1936 graduate of the former Missouri Chiropractic College. Dr. Reinert was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was president in the 1950s of the Northside Kiwanis Clubi.

Dr. Reinert was dean and clinic director of the Missouri Chiropractic College in 1962, and he later became president of the college until its merger in 1964 with Logan College. He served as director of the department of diversified technique at Logan until 1970. He was a fellow in the International College of Chiropractors.

Throughout his career, Dr. Reinert did research in the bio-mechanics of the spine and developed techniques and treatments for lower-back disorders. …
