ST. CHARLES Spoonhour To Speak For Youth Organization

St. Louis University basketball coach Charlie Spoonhour will speak Wednesday at a "steak and burger" dinner to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles County.

Tickets are $50, which gets a burger for the purchaser. The steak goes to a young club member who will dine with the buyer and explain the club's programs.

The dinner will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Columns Banquet Center in St. Charles.

The dinner is the major fund-raiser for the club, which has some 2,000 members. The club is open to girls and boys, 8 through 18, from anywhere in the St. Louis area.

For $10 annual dues, members can use the club's new facility in O'Fallon, which includes a gym, computer lab, and exercise and game rooms, and its main building in St. Charles, which has a weight room, computer lab and Olympic-sized pool.

The Boys and Girls Club has a 150-member swim team, the St. Charles Dolphins.
