Mizzou Student Killed, 10 Hurt in Auto Collision in Wentzville

A 20-year-old woman was killed and nine friends riding with her in a roofless truck were injured Friday night in a two-vehicle collision in Wentzville.

The victim, Christi Dixon of Wright City, was a passenger in a Chevy Blazer driven by Scott Duebbert, 25, of Wright City.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Duebbert's eastbound vehicle was struck by a westbound car driven by Hyoung S. Kim, 50, of Wentzville, which crossed the center line on the Interstate 70 north service road.

The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m., less than a mile west of Pearce Boulevard.

Duebbert and seven others - all from Wright City - were seriously injured and treated at hospitals.

They were identified as: Jody T. Newcomb, 21; Samantha E. Bigelow, 15; Stephen P. Luebber, 20; Brandy N. Watkins, 16; Jim L. Roberts, 22; Tricia Dixon, 24; and Jason Lawson, 17.

The other Blazer occupant, Billy J. Ivy, 16, of Linn, Mo., had minor injuries.

Kim, the driver of the other vehicle, was seriously injured and in surgery Saturday at a hospital. …
