Cardinals Drop Cecil; Jets Lose Moore

Article excerpt

Chuck Cecil, a Pro Bowl safety with the Green Bay Packers two years ago and a seven-figure player last season, is looking for work.

Cecil - a salary-cap casualty after his three-year, $5.25 million deal with Arizona was voided and he was re-signed to a one-year deal for $350,000 - was cut by the Cardinals.

Two other inexperienced receivers, Kenny Shedd and Stevie Anderson, will get added time Saturday against the New York Giants. Anderson broke free for a 61-yard touchdown play at Philadelphia, turning a short pass into a big play.

Bills: Buffalo coach Marv Levy ended training camp in Fredonia, N.Y., two days early and headed north 50 miles to continue workouts at Rich Stadium in Buffalo.

Levy, who also cut camp short a year ago, said it would be easier to work out at home. …
